BOSOM DIVINE: I'm your animal 7" - Very refreshing sounding French garage-pop record with an A-Side to die for. Obviously VU-referential, with an upbeat jangle-pop vibe that almost sounds like a French take on Brit-pop. Lovely. B-Side is a bit more off-kilter Wave-y sounding that would be more likely to make you believe there's a Cheveu member involved (and there is), with a little bit of subtle organ-work, and still maintains it's danceability.(Rich Kroneiss, Terminal Boredom) (Les Disques Steak) 7" 4,00

CHEB SAMIR & THE SOULS OF BLACK LEVIATHAN: Don't like girls e.p. - Duo with two Normals members (they have one song on Tete de bebe comp on S-S records. They pull off a sort of antique, thrown-together primitivism that makes first-LP GORIES sound. Really cool raw stuff! (Yakisakana) 7" 4,00

CITY SCUM: Dead Man e.p. - Five-tune slab of guitar-driven garage rock-n-roll by some chaps whose cowboy hats are integral to their cross-dressing escapades. They sound a hell of a lot like Brutal Knights were BK not awkwardly sodomized by that hardcore rhythm section of theirs, or, hell, a (deeper) southern-fried Reatards minus the rambunctiousness.
