KAZALOK
'Chandrasekhar Limit' -
12" MLP (SYA019)
Welcome to the psychaedelic
garagepunk sound of the Kazalok. The band formed by Cole Weintraub (Jormungandr,
Snake Flower, Barbaras) and Bennet Foster (former guitarist for The Mutant
Spacebats of Doom) in 2005 in Memphis, TN. For their summer 2006 tour - with
Brimstone Howl - they
added Billy Hayes (Boston Chinks, Barbaras, Knaughty Knights) on drums and
Alex Gates (Barbaras, Esque, Boston Chinks) on bass. Influences range from
psych-folk performers such as Comus and Syd Barrett to protopunk acts such
as the Velvet Underground. They currently hold the Guiness World Record for
being the second tallest rock music band. READ

SNAKE FLOWER II 'Turn Back Time' - 7" EP
(SYA018)
This 4-tracks EP carries the
sixties dreamy sound of great bands such as Move, Chocolate Watchband, and
Love.... across the current garagepunk environment.
Snake Flower II
was founded by Matthew M. Melton who recently relocated to San Francisco
from Memphis, TN. Memphis was his home where he had lived his entire life.
He left Memphis to go on tour with the first arrangement of the group, Snake
Flower (one), which included notable Los Angeles based conceptual
performance artist Bunny Lampert, and Cole Weintraub (Kazalok,The Barbaras).
When Snake Flower "I" fell apart apon the group's arrival in California,
Melton reformed the project with Donnelle Malnik (Nervous Breakdowns) and
Paula Frazer (Tarnation, Birdman Records). Right now the current line-up
includes Will Axe on drums. As a young musician, Matthew's projects
in Memphis included The Break Ups, The River City Tan Lines, and The Bare
Wires where he collaborated with Alicja Trout and Jack O Yarber.

CHILI COLD BLOOD Rock N Roll
Motherfucker Redux - LP
(SYA016)
CCB plays raw, howlin’,
and boozy southern electric honky tonk Rhythm’n’Blues dirtyin’ it into some
darkly post-punk sceneries. Think of R.L. Burnside & J.L. Hooker meeting
some gloomy sound Black Sabbath alike. Real bad-man-blues thing with
hypnotic and circular riffs that reminds as of Mississippi Delta/North Hills
and
Texas
style licks as dark Tommy Iommi’s visionary musical intuitions.....

CHILI COLD BLOOD
'Why baby why
b/w
Slow down'
7"
(SYA014)
Dirty, raw and fucked
up blues from Austin, TX. Think of John Lee Hooker and
R.L.Burnside jamming in the dark night with Black Sabbath. Booze,
wimmen and shotgun blues. A couple of tracks waiting for their album
'Rock N Roll Motherfucker Redux' out in November on SYA. Real music
with balls, baby!
