We're very proud to release the third installment by one of coolest bands around here. After a couple of great 7"s and a tour in U.S. Miss Chain and her fave boys - the Barcella Bros and Disaster Silva - come back with a pair of charming garagey tunes full of power pop sensations.

REVIEWS

English

Third single from Miss Chain, and much like the others, it's extremely proficient female-fronted powerpop from Italy cut from the same bolt as Suzy, Holly, Nikki, etc...Pleasant, hooky, light, no aftertaste, "Lie" is the down-but-still-perky heartbreaker, "He's Your Boy" is the sassy I'm-a-good-bad-girl mover (with hot guitar action), which is probably as good as most cuts on the Gentleman Jesse LP when you think about it. Can't complain about this one, really well done for the style. Produced by a Mojomatic, this is the only Miss Chain 7" still available, so all you young ladies better get moving.

Miss Chain & The Broken Heels makes kind of sixties pop reminding you of old movies with girls dancing around wearing long dresses and big wigs. The sound is dominated by the female vocal, but with cool backing harmonies by the "boys". The songs are the kind of teenage bubblegum songs about problems with boyfriends and naive nonsense. But who cares when the voice of Miss Astrid is so charmingly cute you wannahug your speakers? It's hard not to love the happy grooves of this band...

It's fr-fr-fr-freezing cold right outside as I sit and type but as this record plays the skies turn from their winter gray to a bright summer blue and the cold white blanket of snow that covers the ground changes into it's vibrant summer greens. Who knows how Asstrid, the Barcella brother hip shakin' rhythm section and Mr. Silva He of the Rock Action manage to do such things in the sparkle pop magic way they do but like all magic it's much more fun if you allow yourself to believe it than to be a grumpy party pooper always trying to dispel things.
"Lies" is has "Break Up Song in the classic Girl Group style" stamped all over it. All the unnecessary ruffles are done away with for something a little more simple but just as stylish. A cool hook that stands alone in the introducing then bright and banging with out being too brash midtempo dance bop joining in. Tender but tough words about boy loses girl/girl gets new boy/boy can't understand why girl left/girl tells him why. Where are the Casey Kasem's of the modern world sending this out as some sort of backhanded long distance dedication across the airwaves of the world? It's a warm up track for side two's "He's Your Boy (But Could Be Mine)", a cautionary tale to American girls (Watch out! Your boy may be next), all bouncy and featuring a Real Kids thinking about Chuck Berry type of guitar solo taken to bent string twang outer limits.
There may be another 5 feet of snow dropped on this town over the next few weeks but it's like the middle of August when ever the Broken Heels are coming over the speakers

They did it again! Lovely Astrid and her boys come up with two more impressive examples of what real power-pop is all about. This is their third 45 and it's another little masterpiece. Both tunes deliver the perfect blend of classic late 70's power-pop, 60's all-girl group sounds and the minimalistic charme of early punk-rock. I said it before, but I will say it again, this band will be HUGE!!! If you really dig the sound of crunchy guitars, be a sucker for songs with the highest possible recognition value and go bananas for a full dose of harmonies, you need to have this 45 (and of course all their other releases too).

Ocupando o lado B, a energia juvenil e urgente de “He’s Your Boy (But Could Be Mine)”, em um encerramento na melhor escola Ramones.
